This was the largest spider I had ever seen--and we have some big ones in Florida. What amazed me were the hairs on its legs. It's difficult for me to even create these photos as I have arachnaphobia, yet I have taken many shots of several arachnid species. This was another from Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, Charleston, SC.
I have loved photography since high school. When digital technology came out, could not wait to get a new camera. Once I did, there was no ending to the number of pictures I would take in one sitting. My Dad, as well as others, had always encouraged me to do something with my photos. I always just enjoyed them for myself. Then my Dad suddenly passed in April 2008. He is no longer here to encourage me, but I know he is watching over me, so I decided to launch my website for others to enjoy my images. Excellent photo. I just posted a spider shot. I was walking along a building and when I caught a glimpse of the gal out of the corner of my eye about 2 feet from my head, I swear I did not squeal like a little girl. Honest. A top ten photo, Vicky.
